[REVIEW] NYX Slim Lip Pencil - Coral

Dear Invaders,

So actually, I'm in an attempt of collecting lip liners. This one is my other lip liner from the drugstore line: NYX. So, let's just grab your attention to read my take about NYX Lip Liner Pencil in Coral.

~ PRODUCT INFO ~

Slim, trim but never prim, our lip pencils come in a variety of dashing shades—from auburn to orange and traffic-stopping red. The buttery, long-wearing lip liner formula goes on easily and resists bleeding.

~ PACKAGING ~

As its name, Slim Lip Pencil, of course it comes with the form of slim pencil. It has a simple black glossy coat in both body and the cap. There's various information on the pencil body, from the brand name, PAO symbol, color name, until the product's weight. It also has a color sign at the other side of the pencil. Pretty much simple, like most of all drugstore brand.

~ INGREDIENTS ~

Sorbitan Isostearate, Isocetyl Stearate,Phenyl Trimethicone, Polyethylene, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Unsaponifiables, Beeswax, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) seed oil, Caprylic/Capri Triglyceride, Nylon-12, Octyldodecanol, Polyglyceryl-2 Diisostearate, Silica, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Hydrogenated, Coconut Oil, Tocopherol, VP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Stearalkonium Hectorite, Stearyl Glycyrrhetinate, Propylparaben, Prolylene Carbonate.

For those who concerns, it definitely is not animal cruelty free since it contains Beeswax and it still contains paraben.

 

~ COLOR AND TEXTURE ~

The claim which is said as buttery, I don't it find that way. Somehow, it made my lips dryer than its usual state which always dry. The color, of course since it's Coral, contains orange hue. But it doesn't have any pink hue as I usually see in every coral shade. I found it a bit hard in application and the color pay off was sheer with frosty finish that it still showed my pigmentation lip ring.

~ PRICE AND AVAILABILITY ~

Well, in NYX official website, it's written US$ 3,5. I don't know how much it costs in official retail booths in many major malls in big cities in Indonesia because I purchased it through pre-order method from some online shops which served the hand-carry purchasing with Rp.40,000 to Rp.50,000 price tag.

~ MY VERDICT ~

Since NYX is considered as drugstore brand outside the country, but in Indonesia, NYX mostly can be found in major malls in some big cities. It makes the price costs double from what we see in its official web. But for this Slim Lip Pencil in Coral shade, I must say that it is not my favorite at all. From what I experienced, it accentuated my chapped lips and the color pay off didn't meet my expectation as I wanted a lip liner to be more opaque and be able to cover my pigmentation lip ring. Another things that I found beside that, the formula wasn't so buttery as it claimed. I found it a bit hard to apply as the pencil wasn't so that smooth. But, I might try another color that is available now to know and compare if it's only this Coral color which gives me that oh-unsatisying-result or not. Since the price is considered cheap, I think there's nothing wrong to have another shades.
